  How does a PC satellite receiver card work ?

DVB = Digital Video Broadcasting
PCI = Personal Computer Interface

We use the terms DVB card and PCI card interchangeably so don't worry if you think we are talking about two different things it is the same thing.

If you already have a satellite dish or have had one installed you can get watch hundreds of TV stations from all over the world. You can either do this on your computer screen or you can use the TV output on your computer and watch it on your television.

Many people think that it is difficult to install a PCI satellite receiver but the fact is that it is probably just as easy as installing a normal set top box receiver.

When you have inserted the satellite receiver DVB card into your computer, you just install the drivers and the software of your preference. We know that the DVB satellite receivers are widely used by its users to make the computer unlock the pay per view stations. The most commonly used software for the Visionplus cards is the EZDVB software. Although this software is extremely easy to use and set up, it is not legal to use it to watch the pay stations and users should take care to only watch the channels that they are free to watch or have a paid subscription for.

You can choose between two different types of cards and both of these cards are completely compatible with the same software on the market. The VP-1030 that comes with a CAM slot has however the option of adding a cam and a key from a pay TV station which can in many cases be an interesting option.

As we also distribute projectors we have to mention that one of the best ways to enjoy a good television is to connect your computer with a satellite receiver to a projector and watch the TV on your wall or a screen.
